Ain’t life funny sometimes?

Posted by Lyndee on Nov 29, 2007 under In Lyndee's Words

And, sometimes it isn’t!

Yeah, I know, I’ve been a very bad blogger lately!  Truth is, I just have had so much going on with my daytime job that I’ve just not been in the frame of mind to try and write something really creative or funny, true or false, nasty or twisted or, sexual lately.  And, when I am not in the mood, it’s just best I write nothing at all!!  Kinda like tonight… but, I wanted to at least check in and say hello!!

So, like I was saying, my day job has kept me pulling my hair out for almost two weeks now!  I am going into the office everyday, and I really don’t care for that!  But, being the loyal little contributor to the corporate world, I will!  Hopefully, resolution will come soon, and I can get back to my usual get-up, before it gets up and goes!

So, now that NASCAR is over until February, football is drawing to a close, Dancing With The Stars has concluded, as has The Bachelor,  the ‘Noles lost to the GAYTORS, no golf and, the left side of my neck and shoulder are in permanent spasm, what on earth am I going to write about?  Hmmm…  I suppose I could resort to telling jokes, sharing bizarre stories about calls, tell ya about the letter I received from my HOA the other day or, about all of the Christmas shopping I have been doing (for myself primarily… afterall, who’s more special?)… ya know, all of that boring hoolabaloo…

I guess I will put off another day while I ponder…

Anyway, I hope ya’ll are well… life is treating you like a King, or in some cases, Queen…  and, for those deserved of only the best life has to offer, I hope it is coming your way!  Of course, we ALL deserve only the best but, this is open to interpretation!!

Take care and until next time….

Ciao Bella!

P.S.  Careful, I hear the secrets that you keep!!!

TMI TUESDAY…

Posted by Lyndee on Nov 27, 2007 under TMITuesday

Yeah, I know, been kinda MIA for a few days!!  On my blog, anyway!  My life off of the phones has had a bit of increased demand as of late so, by the time I have time to write…. I am just too tired!

Anyway, today is TMI TUESDAY and I just have to answer the questions… I know you are anticipating, LOL!  Here we go…

1. Are you a member of the mile high club?

Nope, never been to Denver, LOL!!!   Of course, I do know what the mile high club is… and the answer is kinda sorta!!  LOL… okay, YES!

2. What is the most public place you have ever had sex?

Oh boy, this brings back some memories!!!  In the front seat of a car, parked alongside a VERY busy sidewalk… Or, on the balcony of a condo I used to live in… Or, the beach…. there’s quite a few!!

3. What is your most embarrassing family moment?

Probably when my late sister and I were talking about her husband and some very personal issues… she had just finished talking to him on his cell and didn’t disconnect the call and he heard everything we were saying… needless to say, he wasn’t a very happy camper!!

I cannot think of one….sorry!
4. What kind of birth control do you use?

Damn, you guys get personal!  The pill…
5. Have you ever had sex in the snow? Rain?

OH BOY!!!!  Hot diggity damn, now we’re talking!!!  YES and YES!!

Bonus (as in optional):Describe your flirting technique: innuendo, telling a dirty joke, talking about sex life, or physical contact?

Well, it all depends on who I am flirting with and the surroundings!   Definitely not talking about my sex life if I am flirting with someone I am interested in.  Innuendos…. maybe!  Dirty jokes… I can’t ever remember the punch lines, so that is out, too!  Physical contact… a definite, although subtle.  I like eye contact… a lot!  And, I can say that with my knowledge of sports, it has worked in my favor, especially when I was bartending… MOST guys seem to get very turned on by a chic that knows sports…

Okay, that does it folks!!  I hope ya’ll are well, and I really will be back to writing soon, I promise!!!

I think you all know that I rarely mention religion in my blog.  But, this morning I got a phone call from a dear friend of mine’s sister, and I just had to share….

About 5 or 6 months ago now, my friend’s 19 year old son was in a boating accident and has been in a coma ever since.  He spent 3 months in a local hospital, and then they had to move him to a rehab center about 4 hours away.  At the same time, his father is fighting for his life with recurrent lymphoma and has been hospitalized himself on numerous occasions over the past couple of months.  Because of his deteriorating condition, and the fact that the chemo has depleted his immune system, he has not been able to visit his son since he was moved to the rehab center.

Well, five days ago they capped off the son’s trach to see how he would do.  He has done beautifully, breathing on his own.  And yesterday… on THANKSGIVING, with his mother at his bedside, he very clearly spoke the word “MOM” 11 times!!!  Granted, that is all that he said but, isn’t that enough for a Mom to hear on Thanksgiving Day?

So, I asked my friend if she spoke to her brother yesterday (who is in the hospital yet again because he fell secondary to extreme weakness from the very high doses of chemo he’s receiving).  She did, and he began to cry… and said these words to her after telling her that his son had spoken, and I want to share them with you ALL!

P U S H… He said, we have lived by this word!  PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS!

Admittedly, I pray, every morning and every night.  I am not ashamed to admit that I absolutely believe in the great God above.

Anyway, even in his deteriorating state, he (the father)  says “WE’RE ALL GONNA BE ALRIGHT.”  These words coming from a man that is battling for his life… his only hope is a bone marrow transplant.  However, due to the rapid spreading of the lymphoma, they have pretty much told him that unless they can shrink the lymphoma by some percentage, that the transplant will probably not be effective.

I confess, this story brought me to tears… and just goes to show… how much we, the healthy,  have to be thankful for.  And, how on this THANKSGIVING DAY, a family was given the gift they’d been hoping for, for so many months….  a positive sign from their son.  I pray the uttering of words to his Mom are a sign of bigger and better things to come…

Oh, what a Thanksgiving Day my friends had…   So, in parting, I say to all of  you…

P U S H!

Have a great day…

1. what’s the sexiest gesture a woman can make?

This is a toss up!  Firstly, I think the licking of the lips, very slowly, circular motion!  Secondly, gently combing of the fingers through the hair, with head leaning to one side, with a subtle wink!!
2. what are 3 inevitable things about you?

1.  When I love someone, I love completely and unconditionally

2.  I will find something to laugh about

3.  I will not give up hope until all efforts have been exhausted
3. what do you want . . . . now?

LOL, what do we all want right now?  I want to bake some cupcakes!!!!!!

4. what asset do you have besides the physical and the material?

1.  Loyalty would be the most valuable asset I possess.
5. describe a sexy mind.

A VERY OPEN MIND is a sexy mind!!

Bonus (as in optional):What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

WOW, a lot!  Let me start with my family… I am thankful that I have all of my wits about myself.  I am thankful for my lucky STARS!  I am thankful that in my life thus far, I have made a positive impact on some, especially children.  I am thankful that, unlike many, I am able to accept people for WHO they are, and not WHAT they stand for.  I am thankful for all of those in my life that are genuine and unconditional.  I am thankful that I have what I need to survive.  I am thankful that I have made one of the best friends of my life this year…and, that I am here to type this response!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!!!

Congratulations ABC…

The 2007 NASCAR season ends today…and other stuff

Posted by Lyndee on Nov 18, 2007 under Great Lates, In Lyndee's Words, NASCAR, SPORTS

Today’s race in Homestead will be bittersweet, of sorts.  As those of you who read my sports entries know, I am a HUGE Dale, Jr. fan.  It’s kinda odd, too!  A few years ago, you would no more have heard me say, “Dale, Jr. is the cats meow”, than “Tony Stewart is a Saint.”

I never really cared for Dale, Sr., Dale Jr.’s father, until about 2 years before he was killed on the last lap of the Daytona 500.  All of my friends, no exaggeration, were Dale, Sr. fans… and, I stuck by my “Ford boys”.  I put up with a lot of ridicule but, there were many a Sunday when I got to return the smack talk!  There was no sweeter revenge, trust me.

It was an overnight transformation!  And, I will never forget my friends reactions when they heard me cheering for Dale, Sr. the first time.  A lot of comments were aimed at my “crossover” but, I was welcomed with open arms, and became an official ”Intimidator” supporter!  I must say that in all of my years spent around the sport, i.e. in the pits, garages, bumping elbows with the finest in the sport, wining and dining with owners and drivers and, knowing the “big wigs” of NASCAR… there were no more loyal supporters to a driver than the Dale, Sr. fans.

I was in attendance the day Dale, Sr. hit the wall and killed.  It happened right in front of where we were sitting.  It was one of those gut wrenching moments… you just knew it wasn’t good.  NOBODY, I mean NOBODY in the grandstands moved from their positions… all eyes were on the track just this side of turn 4… I remember crying…and, I remember thousands of others crying right along with me.  Although they didn’t announce right away, like I said, you just knew that he was gone to meet his maker.  A very, very sad day.

Dale, Jr. was just “drying out behind the ears” so to speak.  He had won some big races and,  hell yeah, he had a ton of fans but, nothing like the vast sea of #3 clad fans.  But, the day his daddy died, that all changed.  All of the Dale, Sr. fans rallied behind their fallen driver’s son, not only lending their support at a most difficult time but, have been right there supporting him ever since.  You will still see fans today sporting their #3 shirts and hats but, you know their hearts and loyalty lie (or, is it lay? this one always screws me up!) with the Junior!!

Dale, Jr., the most popular driver in NASCAR…

Today, Jr.’s working relationship with DEI, Inc., which his father built and pioneered until his untimely death, will be over.  Bittersweet.  Unfortunately, he and his stepmother had some differences that they couldn’t resolve so, Jr. had to seek out bigger and better opportunities.  And, that he did.  He will be joining the Hendrick organization (and, there isn’t a nicer guy than Rick Hendrick) and driving the #88 AMP and National Guard sponsored car in 2008.

Rick is a powerhouse in NASCAR.  Knowing him personally, I can say that they don’t come any finer than Rick Hendrick.  He is a class act, and in a league his own.  Today, two of his drivers, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon

will be battling it out in Homestead for the Nextel Championship Trophy! (The Nextel Trophy is as sought after as the Lyndee/ABC trophy.  Well, kinda sorta!)  Jimmie and Jeff are hard core drivers but, Rick is responsible for giving them the equipment to make it all happen.  There ain’t nothing that compares to a Hendrick engine in NASCAR…  Hendrick engines and drivers have dominated the 2007 season.

After today, the NEXTEL CUP goes as well… it is going to be called the SPRINT CUP starting next year…  Personally, I wish it was still THE WINSTON CUP!  I think I will always call it that.  Growing up, it was just always the WINSTON CUP!

Anyway, as of tomorrow, Dale, Jr. is officially an employee of the Hendrick organization!  I couldn’t be happier for Jr.  I KNOW he has what it takes to be a champion in the sport, just like his daddy was.  But, I will say… I will miss seeing Jr. in the Budweiser sponsored car… they went together like eggs and ham, ya know what I mean?

Today will, without a doubt, be a very emotional day for Jr.  Not only leaving behind the company his father had built for himself and his family but, all of the personnel that have helped to get him to where and what he is today in the sport of NASCAR.  And, the end of an awesome relationship with Budweiser… You wouldn’t believe the increase in profits over the past few years that Budweiser attributes to Jr.  Astounding.  And, we the fans are sure going to miss Jr. climbing from the #8…

I’m giving up the BUD and going with the AMP!!  Best of luck to ya, Jr.  Go gettem!!

And, two icons retire after today’s race, one a car owner and the other a driver!  Happy Retirement to Robert Yates… a helluva nice guy and great team owner and businessman!  Thanks Robert, for the passing of the #88 for Dale, Jr.  (proof that he is a very giving man!)  And, so long to Ricky Rudd… a career that spans more than 30 years.  Ricky didn’t miss a race from 1981-2005… how many of you can say you didn’t miss a day of work in 24 years?  WOW!!!  The only driver with more career starts than Ricky was Richard Petty.  Thanks for the memories, Ricky!!!  You will always be the “Tide Man” to me!

IS IT FEBRUARY YET?

Thanks for hangin’ with me… I know it was rough!!!  Have a great Sunday….

Sunday Sports

Posted by Lyndee on Nov 18, 2007 under NASCAR, NCAA Football, SEMINOLES FOOTBALL, SPORTS

This is kind of a sad post for me in a way!  You all know how I love my NASCAR… well, today is the final race of the season.  But, I guess February isn’t really that far away… still, I always looked forward to Sundays and the stock car boys battling it out on the ovals, tri-ovals, cookie cutters, road courses and, what’s the name of that other type of track?  Anyway, time to say so long to the “motor heads” for awhile!  And, I will miss it for other reasons as well…

Unfortunate for me, it looks as though ABC is going to be the recipient of the coveted trophy… I must say, it was a lot of fun battling it out with him week after week… we are both pretty competitive people, so it made for a lot of fun!  Anyway, our final picks of the season are as follows:

Lyndee:  Jimmie Johnson, Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, Mark Martin and Dale, Jr.  I know, Dale has had a terrible year, and I am not so sure that his wicked stepmother didn’t actually arrange for the sabbatoge.  Seems very strange that he has had so many DNF’s this year…very fishy!!!  But, I have stayed very loyal to both he and Mark Martin, so had to take them both, in this, the final race of 2007!!

ABC:  Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton and Martin Truex, Jr.  ABC has remained very loyal to Mr Pink Panties Gordon as well.  And, Kurt Busch, the pussy boy, has always topped his list, too!!  Funny how we would come up with silly nicknames for our guys… each of us trying to outwit the other!

All of ABC’s drivers would pretty much have to finish in the bottom 6 spots in order for me to have a chance at winning… and, as much as I like to be the “glass half full” type of girl, I just don’t see that happening.  There is too much at stake in this last race.  In any event, I will wait to congratulate the winner until tomorrow evening!!

Our Seminoles beat Maryland today, and that is a very good thing!  We got a HUGE game next week with our intrastate rival, the GAYTORS!  They have lost three games this year, so no repeat Championship for them…YAY!!  But, how we would love to have the bragging rights… so, unless you’re a GAYTOR fan, please join us in cheering on the ‘Noles next week!!  Thanks!!

Looks like OSU is going to the Rose Bowl… Texas Tech upsets #4 Oklahoma… I believe LSU should stay in the #1 slot this week… I am okay with that… I have a relative that goes there!!

Anyway, am going to wrap up this sports edition… with a tribute to my true sporting love…NASCAR!!!!

And,here’s hoping that Jimmie Johnson walks away with his second consecutive championship….

And to those that helped to bring the sport to what it is today…. not forgetting the loss of the son of the founder of NASCAR, Bill France, Jr. this season, in addition to two drivers, Benny Parsons and Bobby Hamilton..  may you all RIP.

I just have to post this

Posted by Lyndee on Nov 16, 2007 under Senseless Chatter

This is so damn true…and funny!!  Here ya go guys, these are “your” rules for us gals!

Finally , the guys’ side of the story.
( I must admit, it’s pretty good.)
We always hear ” the rules ”
From the female side.

Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered “1 ”
ON PURPOSE!

1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You’re a big girl. If it’s up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don’t hear us complaining about you leaving it down.

1. Sunday sports. It’s like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That’s what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.

1. If you think you’re fat, you probably are.
Don’t ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one

1. You can either ask us to do something
Or tell us how you want it done.
Not both.
If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials..

1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched.
We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say “nothing,” We will act like nothing’s wrong.
We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don’t want an answer to, Expect an answer you don’t want to hear.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.. Really .

1. Don’t ask us what we’re thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball or motor sports

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape!

1. Thank you for reading this.
Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight;
But did you know men really don’t mind that? It’s like camping.
